WHAT IS A MEET & GREET?

A 30 minute  Meet & Greet Consultation is required before any booking and is free to our clients.


This allows us to meet you and your furry friends. As well as go over all the paperwork in our welcome packet.

DO YOU REQUIRE A COPY OF KEYS?

We do ask owners to provide two copies of their house key(s). Keys must be provided at initial Meet & Greet. They are kept in a locked safe with no identification to the location of your home. If the owner is uncomfortable with this policy they may provide a lockbox at owner's expense.

HOW TO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENT?

Due to numerous returned checks, we are presently only accepting cash.  Please note our Sitters do not carry more than $20 in change.

We are currently looking into a low fee rate credit card service, we hope to offer this payment option soon. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. 

DO YOU CHARGE A HOLIDAY FEE

Yes, we do charge a holiday fee.  We pet sit 365 days a year.  Like most other jobs, if you worked on a holiday you would receive holiday pay. 

HOLIDAY SURCHARGE

 $20 FLAT FEE WITH BE ADDED TO BILL

MAY I GIVE MY SITTER A GRATUITY?

Absolutely, if you feel they have gone above and beyond their duty. You may leave cash or a gift card for your sitter at your home in a closed enveloped marked: HHPHS Sitter. Sitter will not accept loss cash on the counter, gratuity must be adequately marked it is for them.

WHAT IF MY PET BECOMES ILL?

If a pet becomes ill or a sitter notices a pet not acting right, the sitter will call the owner and/or the emergency contact on file.  If a sitter is unable to reach the client, they will contact the veterinarian on file. If the pet is in need of care recommend by vet; sitter will transport the animal to and stay with pet until client can retrieve their pet. All cost of visit and charge by the veterinarian are at owners expense.  Additional service cost of $30 an hour for sitter’s travel and time will be charged to owner.

DO YOU CARE FOR AGGRESSIVE PETS?

For the safety of our sitters, if a pet has a history of attacking or biting another animal or person or fighting, unfortunately we are unable to offer services.

VACCINATIONS

The State of Virginia only legally requires cats and dogs to receive a Rabies vaccination. For this reason we request a copy of such record on file.

WHAT ARE YOU HOURS?

Pet Sitting visits are generally between 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.
We can customize the visit to your pet needs.
Morning  visits are scheduled: 8 am – 12 pm
Mid-Day visits are scheduled: 12 pm – 4 pm
Evening Visits are scheduled: 4 pm – 7 pm
Late Nights are scheduled: 7 pm- 9 pm
Other times can be arranged.
Overnight visits are available from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am.
Our office hours,  Monday-Friday 8:30 am 4:30 pm.
We do monitor emails and text in off hours in case of emergencies 24/7.

FENCING

Although, it is wonderful to have your pet roam the backyard. Hogan’s Happy Pet & House Sitting takes no responsibility or liability for an escape, lost, injured, fatality or likewise of any client’s animals when instructed to leave in fenced yard. This includes but not limited to electronic, metal, wood, wireless or any other type of fence. Wireless collars are not 100% in securing a pet and HHPHS will not leave a dog at a homesite with only a wireless collar. No fence system is totally secure.

We also reserve the right to refuse to allow a pet out into the yard if a sitter feels there is a threat to their and or the pet's well-being. This includes but no limited to excess animal waste, hazardous trash, stagnated water, unkempt lawn, or unsanitary conditions.

MEDICATION

Hogan’s Happy Pet Sitting & House Sitting will make every effort to administer medications as directed. However, HHPHS does not take responsible for complications that arise as a result.  HHPHS will under no circumstances service care for any pet that has any form of contagious illness. This is a strict policy our sitters adhere to for the safety of other clients and their pets. If a sitter is bitten or exposed to any disease or ailment received from the client’s pet(s) which has not been properly vaccinated  or currently reported to HHPHS, the client will be responsible for all costs and damages that may incur.

DISCLAIMER

Any waiver by Hogan’s Happy Pet &  House Sitting of any failure of the customer to observe the provisions of this agreement will not operate as a waiver of Hogan’s Happy Pet & House Sitting rights under this agreement in respect of any subsequent breach or non-performance and will not defeat or affect in any way Hogan’s Happy Pet & House Sitting rights in respect of any subsequent breach.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE IF WE FEEL THERE IS AN ENDANGERMENT TO OUR SITTERS, OR THAT OF OUR CLIENT'S ANIMALS.


ANIMAL CRUELTY WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE PROPER AUTHORIZES.
